Yes, Solar Panda is completely free to use, and no account or login is required. You enter your monthly bill or load and get a full setup recommendation instantly.
Is Solar Panda a solar installation company?
No. Solar Panda is a calculation and estimation tool only. It does not provide physical products, installation services, site surveys, or official quotations.
How does Solar Panda size my solar system?
Solar Panda uses your monthly electricity bill (or load) to estimate your average daily kWh consumption, the required inverter power based on peak load, the solar panel wattage needed to offset your usage, and the battery storage needed for your backup hours — following typical residential hybrid solar standards.
What inputs do I need to provide?
At minimum, your monthly electricity bill in PHP. You can optionally refine the estimate with your preferred backup hours and essential appliance load for a more tailored result.
What peak sun hours does it assume?
Solar Panda uses 4 to 5 peak sun hours per day, the typical Philippine average. This value directly affects how solar panel wattage is sized.
What battery type and voltage does it assume?
By default it assumes LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) batteries with roughly 80–90% usable depth of discharge, and a system voltage of 24V or 48V for residential setups depending on the required inverter size.
How accurate are the results?
Solar Panda gives a best estimate for planning — not an engineering or permit-grade design. Real-world accuracy depends on your input, actual appliance loads, appliance surge values, shading, cable distance losses, and brand efficiencies.
Can I use the results for an actual installation?
No. The output is for estimation and educational purposes only. A licensed solar engineer or installer must perform a proper load audit, site inspection, wiring design, panel layout, and code-compliant, safety-checked sizing before any installation. Always verify wire and breaker sizes with a licensed electrician.
Does Solar Panda estimate cost and ROI?
Yes. Along with the recommended setup, Solar Panda shows an estimated total cost and a return-on-investment (payback) estimate based on typical Philippine prices. Treat these as planning figures — actual prices vary by brand, retailer, and installer.
Does Solar Panda recommend brands or link to products?
The sizing calculations are brand-neutral, but the recommendations may include affiliate links to specific products on retailers like Lazada and Shopee so you can see real, current options. If you buy through these links, Solar Panda may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. The tool is free and no brand is favored in the math.
Can I use Solar Panda offline?
Solar Panda is an installable Progressive Web App (PWA). After your first visit it can load and run on your device even with a weak or no connection. Some features — such as live affiliate prices and newly published content — still need an internet connection.
